A Field Good Time weekend planned for Queens is now anchored
The A Field of Good Time entertainment weekend scheduled for August 27-30 in North Queens has been canceled.
Some of the weekend activities at Gateway Campground in South Brookfield will continue, particularly the Friday night movie presented by South Shore Drive-In. However, the Saturday concert featuring Autumn Carver, Donna Huber (aka Donna Twin – a Shania Twain tribute singer) and band, Tide and Timbre, is a no-go.
Jessica Van Dyne and Catherine Croft were actively preparing for the weekend, but in the end, the stars didn’t line up to make the event go as planned.
“We weren’t able to book the talent until a few weeks ago after we got the approval from our site owner,” Van Dyne explained. “Unfortunately, the cost got too high to bring our headliners here, and we didn’t have enough time to book a new one.”
Although it could not be achieved this year, the organizers hope to try again in 2022.
The film set to take place at Gateway Campground on August 27 is the City Slickers comedy.
Prior to the event’s cancellation on August 19, Georgie Uhlman, owner of the campground, commented, “People seem to be delighted. I know I’m … It’s important to Queens County too.
Gateway Campground is located on Highway 8 in South Brookfield, two miles from Caledonia. It offers year-round camping along the Medway River, but there are no electrical or water hookups.
