Karapetian’s dark fairy tale To yell centered on Samuel (Kevin Janssens), who is far from home, looking for his father. Lost in the depths of Eastern Europe, on the edge of a mythical forest, a small road accident leads to the chance encounter of the daughter of a pig farmer, Kirke (Laura Silina). Sam soon learns that his priorities must change if he is to survive. His initial hospitality is a smokescreen to capture him and make him a forced laborer on the farm. Alone, unable to speak the language, and chained 24/7 with the pigs, he learns to adapt. Luckily, a seemingly magical piglet gains Sam’s trust and shows him the way to freedom and true love.

After the success of the horror feature film The man in the orange jacket (Fantastic Fest 2014, BFI London Film Festival), Aik released the thriller first born (Sitges, Fantastic Fest, Paris International Film Festival 2017).

Aik has also directed two successful opera productions at the Latvian National Opera, The Barber of Sevillewhich received the award for best stage production of the season in 2011, and Faustwhich premiered in September 2016.
