Apple TV+ is now reaching Rogers Ignite TV in Canada
The Canadian carrier has brought some interesting news for those who love good content. The carrier has just revealed that the Apple TV+ app is now rolling out to its Ignite TV and Ignite Streaming boxes/devices. To celebrate this arrival, Rogers is also offering a free three-month subscription to Apple TV+ to its first subscribers to the service. The offer will be available until November 23, 2022, so Rogers customers have plenty of time to redeem for the exciting offer.
Curiously, Samsung and Roku are also giving away three months of Apple TV+ for free on select devices for a limited time. Apparently, Apple is clearly investing in marketing and trying to meet the needs of more subscribers with these free periods. It’s worth noting that the company has also offered months of free membership to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 owners. The new move, however, appears to be aimed at the holiday season. Either way, the new strategy seems to be paying off.
Apple derives good revenue from its services branch which includes Apple TV+, Arcade, Music, etc.
According to reports, Apple’s services business set a June quarter record of around $19.6 billion in revenue. It was the company’s second largest revenue stream behind iPhone sales. Interestingly, the race to increase the capabilities of its services came after the 2018 iPhones fell short of the company’s expectations. Apple has decided to increase the number of services and improve those that already exist. The goal was to define different and profitable sources of income and reduce dependence on the iPhone series. Either way, the company has managed to recover and break records with previous generation iPhones. Therefore, increasing services turned out to be a win-win strategy.
For those unaware, Apple TV+ normally costs $5.99 per month or $59.99 per year in Canada. The service is much cheaper than other major streaming platforms. It also features hit movies and shows such as the award-winning comedy series “Ted Lasso.” There’s also the hit workplace thriller “Severance.” The platform was the first of its kind to receive an Oscar award.
Besides Ignite devices, Apple TV+ is also available in Canada on different platforms. It is available via Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV 4K and Apple TV HD Boxes. It can also be accessed via PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and X. Some streaming devices from Google TV, Fire TV and Roku also offer it. According to reports, Apple is planning a new, cheaper Apple TV Box that could help the company boost adoption of its service.
