‘Black-ish’ ends with season 8

ABC is bringing back “Black-ish” for an eighth and final season.
Kenya Barris, executive producer of the hit comedy series, broke the news on Friday, writing in part: “This show has changed my life in so many ways and I’m so proud of the conversations we started along the way. . “

The season seven finale, due to air later this month, concludes a season with the Johnson family, dealing with the coronavirus pandemic, systemic racism and the social justice and equality movement.
“Black-ish” stars Anthony Anderson as Andre “Dre” Johnson, Tracee Ellis Ross as Rainbow Johnson, Yara Shahidi as Zoey Johnson, Marcus Scribner as Andre Johnson Jr., Miles Brown as Jack Johnson, Marsai Martin in Diane Johnson, Laurence Fishburne as Pops and more.

He also produced two spin-offs, “Grown-ish” which follows Zoey to college and the prequel, “Mixed-ish”, which follows a young Rainbow in the 1980s.
“None of this would have been possible without our audiences and supporters, who stood up for the show every step of the way; allowing us to change not only the narrative of black families, but of family, culture and the world at large, ”Barris continued in his statement. “While still allowing us to talk about things that people weren’t supposed to talk about at the time… especially in a network TV comedy.
“Black-ish” was first created in 2014.
