BROOKINGS – Midwest Emmy Award-winning comedian David Harris will star at the Wooden Legs Brewery Comedy Room on Friday and Saturday October 15-16.
The Wooden Legs Brewery is located at 309 Fifth St. Show time is 7 p.m. and doors open at 6 p.m.

Harris is a Midwest Emmy Award-winning comedian, magician, actor and touring host who has entertained audiences for over 20 years.
With over 2,000 live performances, Harris regularly appears at top clubs, colleges, corporate events, theaters, alternative venues, and other elite venues in the United States and Canada.
Most notably, Harris has performed at the New York Comedy Club in New York, Rick Bronson’s House of Comedy at the Mall of America in Minneapolis, the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, the Goodnight’s Comedy Club in Raleigh, and the Hollywood Improv Lab in Los Angela. Harris has also worked with legendary Louie Anderson, Bobby Slayton, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Amir K. and Ben Bailey, and Judy Gold, to name a few.
Harris’ comedy special “Recalculating” is available on Dry Bar Comedy – one of the best clean comedy sites in the world.
In 2017, in his hometown of Minneapolis, Harris won Minnesota’s funniest person contest. His peers asked him to participate in the highly competitive Minnesota 10,000 Laughs Festival two years in a row and received resounding praise from the public and the press. His personal approach to the topics of work, family, relationships and anxiety makes his act accessible to virtually anyone. Harris is fun, accessible, creative, interactive and most of all hilarious.
On screen, Harris has received rave reviews from local affiliates at ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC TV. In 2006, he won two regional Emmy Awards for his sketch television show, “Nate on Drums,” which airs on Minneapolis sister station ABC, KSTC. Harris has since starred in several award-winning videos and TV commercials online, including recent spots for Robert Half and Panchero’s Mexican Grill.
He recently produced and hosted a cutting-edge variety and talk show, “Vaudeville Remix,” for three seasons. This show featured some of the best acts in the area, with its final season taking place at the Brave New Workshop ETC Theater in downtown Minneapolis. Twin Cities’ alternative newspaper CityPages called it “constantly entertaining.”
Alex Swalve will be in the spotlight for the evening. Swalve is a growing comedian based in Twin Cities. He has been performing throughout the Upper Midwest for over five years. Most recently, he appeared at the Des Moines Comedy Festival.
