Chattanooga weekend options include pub crawls, theater productions, concerts, comedy

July 7 – Three theatrical productions, a haunted house workshop and a pub crawl are among the entertainment options for the weekend. Here is a preview.

> Chattanooga Lookouts, a subsidiary of the Cincinnati Reds Minor League Baseball, started a six-game home streak against the Tennessee Smokies at AT&T Field, 201 Power Alley. Weather permitting, remaining games begin at 7:15 p.m. Thursday (with drink specials), 7:15 p.m. Friday (with fireworks), 7:15 p.m. Saturday (with a used car gift), and 2 p.m. Sunday 15 (when the children can run the bases after the game). > Arts Avenue, 1800A Rossville Ave., will host Kevn Kinney, singer and guitarist of the Atlanta rock band Drivin N Cryin, in a Thursday Night solo show and That ’90s Show, playing 1990s rock and pop hits on Saturday night. (A Roger Alan Wade Friday show has been postponed.) Shows start at 7 p.m. Tickets are $ 20 on Thursday, $ 12 on Saturday. theartsave.com

> “Black Widow”: Marvel Studios’ first superhero film, starring Scarlett Johansson, includes a limited series at Tennessee Aquarium’s Imax Theater, 201 Chestnut St. Screenings at 6:30 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. daily through July 17, more 3:45 p.m. of screenings during this opening weekend, Friday and Saturday. The last two weeks of the race, July 18-29, the theater will offer a daily screening at 6:30 p.m., with additional screenings at 9:15 p.m. on July 23 and 24. tnaqua.org/imax/black-widow

> Nightfall on Friday features a co-poster of two winners of Road to Nightfall, a competition for local bands to win the right to headline the free summer concert series. Four-piece fusion rock band We Are Us, which won the 2020 competition but was only able to play a digital show due to the pandemic, will do a one-hour set at 7 p.m. The 2021 winners, Fantastic Confabulation, will follow with a performance at 8:20 p.m. This energetic five-piece group specializes in soul, funk, jazz, R&B and Latin music. The shows take place at Miller Plaza, 850 Market St. Food trucks, craft vendors, and lawn games are set up in Miller Park across ML King Boulevard. The Lookout Wild Film Festival will follow the music with an hour of free adventure shorts at Miller Park at 9.45 p.m. nightfallchattanooga.com

> The Caverns, 555 Charlie Roberts Road, Pelham, Tennessee, will host jam group Umphrey’s McGee at 7 p.m. CDT Friday and Saturday in the aboveground amphitheater. Tickets cost $ 79 to $ 110 for one night, $ 159 to $ 220 for both. thecaverns.com/shows

> The Comedy Catch, 29 Station Street, will host Dylan Vattelana for shows at 7:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Tickets are $ 16 to $ 18. According to audience polls, the venue increases the capacity of these shows, which means patrons can share tables with people they don’t know. Ticket holders who are uncomfortable with the new arrangement can contact the venue for a refund. thecomedycatch.com

> The Colonnade Players will present “Disney Descendants: The Musical” over the next two weekends, July 9-18, at The Colonnade, 264 Catoosa Circle, Ringgold, Georgia. The show introduces the offspring of Disney heroes to the children of their parents’ sworn enemies. Beginning of shows at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, 2:30 p.m. on Sundays. > Chattanooga Theater Center, 400 River St., will feature “The Miss Firecracker Contest,” a Southern comedy set July 9-25 amid a Mississippi beauty pageant. > Signal Mountain Playhouse, 305 Rolling Way, will present its summer production, “Bye Bye Birdie,” the next four weekends, July 9-31. Set in the 1960s, the musical follows the supercharged farewell that rock icon Conrad Birdie will say to his fans before running for service in the military. Show time is 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The ticket office opens at 6 p.m. for those who wish to purchase their tickets in advance and place their garden chairs (recommended for more comfort). > Haunted House Workshop: Four paranormal investigators will explore topics such as “infamous haunted houses”, “Signs a House Is Haunted”, “Ghost, Poltergeist, Demon or Bad Wiring?” And “So the house is haunted, what now?” in a schedule scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the Be Creative Center, 2709 Airport Road (Suite 104 in the MedNow Center), Dalton, GA. > Chattanooga Hazy Trails Hike pub crawl takes place Saturday starting at 4:00 p.m. at Pax Breu Ruim, 516 E. Main St. The event features the release of Hazy Trails IPA, brewed specifically to raise funds for Tennessee State Parks Conservancy, as well as State Park Blonde Ale, which benefits Tennessee’s 56 state parks. Subsequent stops are at 5:30 p.m. at Slick’s Burgers, 309 E. Main St .; 7 p.m. at Five Wits Brewing Co., 1501 Long St .; and 8:30 pm at Clyde’s HiFi, 122 W. > The Barking Legs Theater, 1307 Dodds Ave., will host a musical reunion of former Kings of the Killer Fish comrades Shawn Perkinson (guitar), Yattie Westfield (drums) and Jon Steele (bass), visiting from Washington, DC, at 7 p.m. Saturday. > The Tennessee Association of Vintage Base Ball is hosting games with the two Chattanooga teams on Saturday at the 6th Cavalry Museum, 6 Barnhardt Circle, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia.
