Chris Rock gets outspoken about dating, returns to stand-up shows and his new movie “Spiral: From the Book of Saw”.

The 56-year-old actor appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Thursday and discussed his recent performances at live comedy clubs in New York City, including Comedy Cellar, the popular venue in Greenwich Village.

“I did a few spots when they opened,” the “Grown Ups” star confirmed. In fact, he joined Dave Chappelle and John Mulaney at recent events.

“I did several things with Dave. I was with Mulaney last night – opened for him last night.

Jimmy Kimmel stressed that the show would be “a lot of fun to watch” and was curious if comedy fans have gathered in theaters the same way they would before the coronavirus pandemic.

“People are showing up,” Chris shared. He then joked, “Every once in a while someone dies. But we continue the show.

John has been in the headlines lately as he marked his first live performances of 2021 with a series of sold-out shows this week at the City Winery in New York City. This follows the 38-year-old ‘Big Mouth’ voice actor who entered a rehab center in December 2020 to address addiction issues, media reported.

Jimmy Kimmel asked the “Spiral” star if there was anything he liked about wearing a face mask during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Do you know what’s weird?” Rock replied. “I happened not to be famous for a whole year. It was bad! Why on earth wouldn’t someone be famous? I had to queue for things.

Rock had more to say about his year of anonymous life and recently offered his own take on Adam Sandler who was unrecognized in an IHOP.

“That’s what these masks do!” Said Rock. “They didn’t know who it was. They thought it was Rob Schneider.

When asked about dating, Rock said “he tries” and revealed that he “never takes the first step”.

“You gotta ask this shit.”
