CIRQUE: The fastest growing family-run circus show, The Show, returns to Melbourne for an incredible return to the stage, as part of a cutting-edge new festival center just off Queen Victoria Market, Melbourne Fringe 2022
CIRCUS is an Australian pioneer in children’s entertainment with world-class illusions, tumbling acrobats, highly skilled jugglers, stunning and elegant aerials, comedy and an endearing clown. The show received countless 5-star reviews and won Best Children’s Show at the Adelaide Fringe.
After a sold-out first season at the 2021 Adelaide Fringe, overwhelming demand for tickets at the Melbourne Comedy Festival – which saw the entire 16-performance season sold out in two days – PLUS breakthrough seasons at Her Majesty’s Theater in Adelaide and both the Theater Royal and Princess Theater in Tasmania – the latest return to Melbourne brings with it an unmissable star cast!
For the return performances in Melbourne, CIRCUS’ Ringmaster will be played by Magnus Danger Magnus of Showmen Productions – one of Australia’s premier traveling circus companies (The Greatest Magic Show, Adults Only Magic Show, CIRCUS);
while Simon Wright’s clowning skills will be on full display in a range of hilarious stunts, including climbing completely inside a gigantic 6ft BALLOON! Simon has just completed an invitation-only residency at the famous Philippe Gaulier Clown School and is one of Australia’s most famous clown talents!
This season will also feature several high class artists based in Melbourne; including aerial acrobat and hula-hoop extraordinaire, Chelsea Angell, who will showcase her energetic and unique aerial performances of grace and beauty while keeping everyone captivated with hula-hoop tricks you’ll have to see to believe!
Also joining them is Bavo Delbeke, an urban circus legend from Norway who brings his energetic experimental circus style in a very unique display of basketball juggling that has graced halftime performances at basketball games. the NBA in the United States; alongside one of Australia’s finest jugglers – Richard Sullivan – who was trained by the world’s best in Stockholm, Sweden before returning to Australia to perform in shows produced by companies such as Circus Oz, YUMMY, Circus Trick Tease and now Showmen Productions!
