Comedian Jason Byrne cancels UK tour after discovering three artery blockages
THE COMEDIAN Jason Byrne had to cancel his UK tour due to heart disease.
The comedian revealed his chest pain while running and later found out he had three arterial blockages.
Taking to Instagram, he apologized for having to cancel the dates but hopes he can perform in November instead.
He said: “Sorry I canceled a lot of the UK tour, but there is nothing I can do about it.
“I recently went for a run, had chest pain in my heart and didn’t know what was wrong with me.
“I went to A&E, did a bunch of stuff, did a bunch of tests and finally they found three blockages.
“So around the beginning of October [is] when I need to get some stents installed. “
The Dubliner, 49, explained that he was taking care of himself but the disease was hereditary and urged fans to get their hearts checked.
He said: “Before someone jumped on it, no it wasn’t the vaccine. I had heart teachers all around me telling me what was wrong with me.
“So my heart has not grown, there are no blood clots, it’s actually hereditary, that’s what happened to me.
“I’m in good shape and underweight and I don’t smoke and hardly ever drink, so I’m begging anyone, go ahead and get checked out.
“You don’t even know if your arteries are blocked.”
Jason added that he had medical experts on hand to help him.
He said: “I’ll be back on tour and then hopefully early November if all goes well, what will be okay is just stents.
“I won’t leave this post too long because every fruit in the loop is going to go on and tell me what I should be doing and what I shouldn’t be doing.
“It’s okay, I have a heart teacher and a stent teacher who know what I should be doing. So see you soon. Sorry.”
Fans and friends as well as familiar faces wished Jason the best of luck.
Westlife star Nicky Byrne said: “Best wishes Jay.”
Comedian Des Bishop joked, “Thank goodness it wasn’t my fault this time!”
Virgin Media star Glenda Gilson commented: “Aww best wishes J. (I thought it was a sell-off at first, sorry!)”
Operation Transformation host Kathryn Thomas wrote: “Love you very much. Get well soon and kudos for spreading the message for verification.”
