The Alabama-born Cox, who is now 57, revisited both of those past roles over the past year with the highly anticipated Friends Reunion and the fifth film Scream, released in January 2022.
Before landing the career role of younger brother Geller, Cox rose to prominence as a young concertgoer in Bruce Springsteen’s Dancing in the Dark video, which busts out of the crowd to dance with The Boss, in 1984. Unbeknownst. at The Boss, Courteney had been airlifted by video director Brian de Palma to be removed from the crowd.
After that, Cox had roles in the live action film He-Man, Masters of the Universe and also the sequel to Cocoon and just before appearing in Friends, starred alongside Jim Carrey in the first film Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.
During the 90s and early 2000s, Cox was on the small or big screen, became one of the highest paid TV stars of all time, as she and the cast of Friends were paid 1 million dollars per episode of the hit sitcom.
While making the Scream films, in 1996, 1997 and 2000, she met and married David Arquette who played police officer Dewey Riley in the films, and they share a daughter, Coco, born in 2004.

Speaking of her, now 26, representing Gale Weathers, she said: ‘I can’t believe I’m still at it and I couldn’t believe they were doing another one, but it is awesome; funny, gory, and really scary. It’s just exacerbated. Everything in the world has changed and it had to follow – it’s relevant.
After Friends, Cox starred in Cougar Town, which ran for six series until 2015, the show saw her step behind the camera and it sparked a new passion for the actress who had several directorial roles and producer over the past decade, including the film Just Before I Go, Celebrity Name Game and in 2019 she created and produced the Facebook documentary series Watch 9 Months with Courteney Cox.
It’s not just TV and movies where Courteney, who reportedly has a net worth of $150 million, has made her millions, she apparently enjoys buying and renovating homes.
Last year, fellow Masters of the Universe actor Robert Duncan McNeill told The Delta Flyers podcast that when they made that film in 1987, she bought a house and “knocked it down”, per example. renovated and sold for profit.
He said: “I heard we lost touch, but I heard that even in the days of the friends she was buying, she loved flipping houses. She loved remodeling, renovating, then flipping it all over.”

In addition to her career and renovation passions, Courteney has found love again since her divorce from David Arquette, with Snow Patrol’s Johnny McDaid, who Ed Sheeran introduced her to in 2013.
The couple have been in a long-distance relationship since then and got engaged in 2014, but they called it off in late 2015, before reuniting in March 2016. She previously told The Ellen Show: “It’s not my We were engaged to be married, but now we’re just together.
“We broke off our engagement, and he moved to England, and then we got back together, and it’s actually better than before.”
Her relationship with McDaid saw Courteney flex her musical muscles on social media with piano performances at home with her other half, with Sheeran and also Elton John, which saw her dedicate a special rendition of Tiny Dancer to Lisa. Kudrow.
Speaking about learning a piano piece especially for Elton John, Courteney told the Graham Norton Show: “I learned to play in confinement, but then Ed Sheeran invited Elton John to dinner at my house and suggested that we were all playing together so I called my piano teacher and 20 minutes later he was walking out as Elton walked in.
“It was the scariest, most nerve-wracking thing I’ve ever done, and it was the thrill of my life!”
As for 2022, which started brilliantly for Cox with Scream topping the box office, there will be more of the star with Shining Vale, which was written by Sharon Horgan of Catastrophe and in true Monica Geller style, she has also released its own brand of cleaning products, Homecourt.
Speaking of Shining Vale, she said, “It’s not gory, but it’s scary. I love Sharon (Horgan), whose idea is the show. I knew her from her work and from zoom but when I went to her house for dinner, we were up until four in the morning just laughing. She’s very funny, and I really think she’s the best.
Courteney Cox is on The Graham Norton Show on BBC One on Friday February 4 at 10.35pm and on The John Bishop Show on ITV on Saturday February 5 at 9.35pm.
