Slowly but surely, Disney+ added much of 20th Century Fox’s old library to its streaming roster. Disney’s takeover of Fox has given the House of Mouse control of the company’s movie and TV asses, and those titles have moved to Disney-owned streaming services over the past two years. Disney+ usually lets subscribers know when these popular titles will be added, but that wasn’t the case this week.

Disney+ previously announced that Friday, April 1 would see the addition of the original film. Better Nate than ever and library title Herbie fully loaded. These were to be the streamer’s only additions in early April. However, Disney+ introduced two more titles this weekend. beloved comedies Hot shots! and Hot shots! Second part are now streaming on Disney+.

Classic Fox comedies starring Charlie Sheen have long been fan favorites, and they’re now easily accessible through Disney’s streaming options. Hot shots! was a success after its release, earning over $181 million at the box office in 1991. Hot shots! Second part arrived two years later, and while it still looks like a box office success, it hasn’t quite reached the heights of the original.

Sheen stars in the parody series Topper Harley, a comic character clearly based on Tom Cruise’s Maverick from Superior gun. The first one Hot shots! also stars Cary Elwes, Valeria Golino, Lloyd Bridges, Kevin Dunn and Jon Cryer. More than a decade after the movie, Sheen and Cryer would reunite again to play the brothers in the long-running sitcom series. two and a half men.

Unfortunately, Cryer does not return for Hot shots! Second part. Sheen, Bridges, and Golino all reprise their roles for the second film. The cast also includes Richard Crenna, Brenda Bakke, Miguel Ferrer and Rowan Atkinson. The sequel goes from a parody of Superior gun to a parody of first blood, with Sheen’s Topper Harley taking on the role of Rambo. Jim Abrahams directed both films.

Are you excited to see the Hot shots! movies added to Disney+? Let us know in the comments!
