The star new movie Do not seek has a savage, completely amazing premise. Something totally out of the realm of reality. A plot that would never, never, in a million years to arrive. This is a world where scientists have proof that something terrible is happening … and no one believes them. Pfft. Yeah iI like this could happen.

Written and directed by Adam McKay, who made The Big Short, presenter, half-brothers, and more, Do not seek star Oscar winners Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence as two scientists who know a a big comet will hit the Earth. The trick is to get people to take them seriously despite the overwhelming evidence. The film also presents Jonah Hill, Mark Rylance, Timothée Chalamet, Tyler Perry, Ariana Grande, Scott Mescudi, Himesh Patel, Melanie Lynskey, Michael Chiklis, Ron Perlman, Cate Blanchett, Meryl Streep, and more. Yes, more. Here is a new extended clip that will give you an idea of what to expect.

Manufacturing on the the movie started at the end of last year and so it seems pretty clear that this idea of ignoring science and peril was largely inspired by the modern world and the covid-19 pandemic. Even though it was written and conceived before that, it remains to be seen if the absurd political commentary will still be so entertaining and entertaining given that we experience it every day. From this clip, it looks like it will. Hill and Streep are exaggerated the awkwardness juxtaposed with the intensity and seriousness of Lawrence and DiCaprio works well. If the rest of the film strikes that kind of balance, Netflix might have something special.

Do not seek debuts on Netflix on December 24 but it’s okay be in some cinemas before that, December 10.
