FIRST LOOK | New ROSE MATAFEO comedy STARSTRUCK gets Australian premiere date

The six-part series follows the endearing antics of Jessie (Rose Matafeo – Baby Done, Taskmaster, Squinters) as she navigates the complications that arise after a one-night stand with a celebrity.
Co-written by Rose and Alice Snedden (Funny girls, bad news), Jessie is a millennial living in east London juggling two dead end jobs. After a drunken relationship on New Years Eve, she finds herself sailing the morning-after-the-night-before when she finds out that her random connection is, in fact, famous movie star Tom Kapoor (Nikesh Patel; Four Weddings and a Funeral, Hulu; Indian summers).
What she thought would turn out to be a funny anecdote soon turns into something more, as the couple realize they can’t get away from each other. Jessie’s world couldn’t be further from Tom’s, working multiple jobs to afford her overpriced apartment that she shares with her best friend, Kate (Emma Sidi; Pls like, King Gary).
Despite her doubts and fame, their connection brings them together to try and navigate a possible relationship under less than ordinary circumstances.
Starstruck will premiere on ABC iview on Wednesday, June 23 at 9 p.m. AEST with all episodes available for Frenzy.
The series will also air on ABC TV on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. AEST starting Wednesday, June 23.
