Foxtel dramatic comedy Upright renewed for season 2
Tim Minchin’s hit Foxtel series Upright has been officially renewed for a second season, with his co-star set to appear in the Game of Thrones prequel.
The comedy-drama Foxtel Upright has been officially renewed for a second season.
Tim Minchin will return as Lucky Flynn for his Ultimate Passion Project, which stars young Australian actress Milly Alcock as her unlikely friend, Meg.
The second season will be another eight-part series, produced by Lingo Pictures for Foxtel and Sky UK, and will follow Lucky and Meg as they trade the desert for the scorching tropics of Far North Queensland on a new mission.
While Minchin’s name is well known on the Australian showbiz scene, Alcock is an aspiring star. The 20-year-old has been picked for the highly anticipated Game Of Thrones prequel, Dragon house, which will air on Foxtel and frenzy in 2022.
Alcock recently appeared in the new trailer as Rhaenyra Targaryen and is expected to return to Australia to film. Law early next year.
Foxtel Television Executive Director Brian Walsh said: Law was a smash hit for Foxtel and a smash hit afterward when it was introduced to the Binge audience last summer.
âThe series is uniquely Australian, brash and daring, full of fun and a big heart. Lucky and Meg’s story, and their unexpected journey through the Nullarbor, has won over fans of all ages – and we’re ready to set off on a memorable road trip with unexpected consequences.
The first season, which debuted in 2019, was a runaway success and was even praised by Buffy creator Joss Whedon as his’ favorite show since Chip bagâ.

Minchin, 46, who is also back on board to co-write the series, told news.com.au the show was one of his career highlights.
âAs a creator, because I was involved throughout the chain and it worked, LawIt’s the thing I’ve been most involved in that has fulfilled my hopes, âhe told news.com.au last year.
âWhich is really difficult when you’re doing art on a large scale. There is always something you cannot control. (Corn) Law, I’m so proud of it and proud of everyone involved.
