Fringe World Festival: the must-see shows

The Fringe World Festival makes its long-awaited return on January 14th of this year and there is certainly no shortage of local and interstate talent.
The 2022 program includes over 500 shows performing at 109 venues in 31 Perth suburbs and featuring over 1,900 artists.

Until February 13, the world’s third largest Fringe World is a popular affair with Perth locals. According to ArtRage’s, the organization that produces Fringe, 2021 Impact Report, ticketed events attracted 226,800 people, which equates to A$5.9 million spent at the box office.
In 2022, the program offers more than 500 shows performed by 1,900 artists. With so much entertainment on offer, here is a list of the shows not to miss at Fringe World Perth 2022.
Comedian hypnotist Matt Hale: Absolute chaos!
Price: $25 – $40
Duration: 60 minutes
A Fringe veteran, Matt Hale never fails to mesmerize, shock and entertain an audience. His hilarious group hypnosis sessions sell out steadily with the comedy award winner bringing a whole new show and big party vibe this year.
Rove McManus – Loosey Goosey
Price: $52
Duration: 60 minutes
From stand-up comedian to Australia’s most successful talk show host, Rove is back on stage in his hometown of Perth for a comedy show covering a wide range of topics.
Yuck Circus: DEADSET
Price: $32 – $34
Duration: 50 mins
Previous award-winning show Fringe returns this year to celebrate where comedy meets circus. Western Australian production company YUCK’s sold-out show blends larrikin humor and high-flying acrobatics into a heart-pounding night of entertainment.

Panties: Bite Club
Price: $47-$57
Duration: 65 minutes
A staple of the Fringe scene for ten years, Brisbane’s award-winning cabaret is back with its unique mix of music, circus, drag, burlesque, theater and comedy. In the new show, Briefs teams up with the wonderful songbird Sahara Beck to bring a haunting voice to their jaw-dropping antics and hooliganism.

Adelaide Fringe Weeklies ’21 Best Magic Show winner, magic duo Sam & Justin put on a spectacularly packed show. Audiences are treated to hilariously loud comedy, mind-blowing illusions and incredibly dangerous stunts seen around the world.
DIVAS – The Drag Revue: fierce and fabulous
Price: $35 – $40
Duration: 60 minutes
The quintessential drag variety show, this event promises singing, dancing, disco hits and jaw-dropping costumes on a grand scale. The energetic drag show hosted by “Perthonality” Dean Misdale offers the perfect entertaining evening filled with fun, drinks and body movement.
