From Walmington-on-Sea to The Witham for the actor Kieran – Arts & Loisirs
A comic that took on an iconic British comedy role for a TV movie will be heading to Barnard Castle later this month.
Kieran Hodgson starred as Ian Lavender in We’re Doomed, The Dad’s Army Story, playing the legendary Lavender Private Pike character in the story of how the iconic comedy show, set in the fictional town of Walmington on Sea, was first commissioned in the 1960s.
He went on to carve out a career in stand-up, performing in front of large audiences, and is part of a team of four performing “in progress” shows at The Witham on Saturday July 31st.
The event kicks off at 5:00 p.m. is Lauren Pattison and she is followed at 6:30 p.m. by Lloyd Griffith.
Kieran Hodgson takes the stage at 8 p.m. and the night ends with Stephen Bailey at 9:30 p.m.
The shows were put on by the comedy Funny Way To Be and are suitable for over 14s.
Promoter Peter Dixon said, âJuly is one of our favorite times to book shows. This year I am delighted with the quality of the acts that are coming to Barnard Castle.
âEach of them has extensive television and radio experience and would be a hot ticket to any comedy festival.
“We have kept ticket prices as low as possible to thank all of our customers for their support and to welcome them back after this difficult time.”
Tickets are £ 6 for each individual show. Reduced day passes for all four shows are £ 20. For more details and to book tickets, visit www.
