If you’re like us, you’re probably a fan of the hit Canadian series, Schitt Creek. The hilarious comedy starring the father and son actor team of Dan Levy and Eugene Levy has taken the world by storm! Before teaming up, Dan and Eugene each had successful careers!

Eugene Levy

Eugene Levy was born in Canada. He married his wife Deborah Divine in 1977 and has two children, Daniel Levy and Sarah Levy. If you are a fan of Schitt Creek, you will recognize his daughter Sarah. She plays Twyla Sands in the series!

Eugene had a successful career in Hollywood. Before working with his children, he starred in blockbuster films like American pie, find Dory, and Best of the show. He won several awards for his film and television roles, but it was the success of Schitt Creek this has earned him his most awarded nominations and victories. He won both a Screen Actors Guild Award and an Emmy for his performance as Johnny Rose.

Dan Levy

Dan Levy won us over everywhere with his performance as Johnny’s son David Rose in Schitt Creek. I can almost hear Alexis Rose’s portrait of Annie Murphy saying “ew, David” now. Prior to the show’s success, Dan made a few minor appearances like on MTV Canada. Live. While playing since high school, the Toronto native has truly thrived as a writer. It was actually Dan who approached Eugene about the sitcom concept, having never asked his father for help before.

Eugene gushes out about his son, “So when he finally came over and said, ‘I have an idea for a show, do you want to work on it? “As a dad it’s like, ‘That moment has finally come, thank you; whatever the idea is, I’m going to work on it, we’ll try to get it started.” ”When Dan recently hosted Saturday Night Live, his father joined in the fun and the crowd went wild.

The success of Schitt’s Creek

The Pop Tv / CBC sitcom which starred a father and son co-creator and co-star crew has become one of the best comedy shows in recent history. The show features beloved actors like Catherine O’Hara’s incredible performance as Moira Rose, the matriarch of the wealthy family. The comedy series also tackles important issues, like the marriage of an openly LGBTQ main character to his partner, Patrick, in the season finale. It’s not just the fans who love the show, the critics too.

The show broke Emmy Award records for his final season, as well as five Golden Globe nominations (winning two!). The TV show was also honored with the MTV Movie Awards, with star Dan Levy taking home Best Comedic Performance. If you haven’t seen the show yet, please give it a frantic watch on Netflix. You will be hooked from the first season.
