Rae, who viewers will recognize as Issa Dee in Insecureestablished Rap shit!but will not appear on the screen.

Speaking to the series finale of Insecure Last October, the actress herself discussed an alternate ending which was ultimately scrapped.

Showrunner Prentice Penny echoed Rae’s sentiments, adding, “HBO has such a history of people having strong opinions about Endgames. For us, we were like, ‘OK look, we obviously want this show to be satisfying. , but satisfactory for us.’

“Trying to figure out what people want is super hard, and how can you achieve that?”

“It just freed us from all the pressure of tying it in a bow,” he continued. “I feel like we told all the stories we could, in the best way possible, and just gave people what we thought was our best.

“I don’t know what more we could have done apart from doing an hour.”
