John Bishop had previously spoken of his grief after his 18-month separation from his wife Melanie, admitting he had consumed alcohol to “quell the pain”. The former pharmaceutical sales rep-turned-comedian, who is scheduled to appear in The Masked Dancer tonight, told Jonathon Ross in 2014 that he entered intoxicated at Manchester’s Frog and Bucket club in 2000, caught the microphone and began to unroll stand-up material. this eventually led him to sell the biggest arenas in the UK.
But before that, he remembered a time when he thought he had lost Melanie, the only woman he had ever loved, forever.
After refusing to go to the park with the family after dropping their children off with Bishop, he realized that their marriage was completely over and that she would move on and find someone new who would play a central role. in the lives of their sons. .

“The realization cut me in half,” he said.
“I couldn’t stop the tears from falling as I tried to put rubber boots on the guys.
“No man wants to cry in front of his sons, but it’s even worse when you don’t know why you are doing it.”
When it was his turn to have their boys Luke, Daniel and Joe, he would “drink a bottle of wine” and watch television during the day.
The comedian was talking about killing her and keeping her head in the fridge because “I knew I would miss her”.
After a few visits to relationship counselors, their marriage resumed and remains strong to this day.
“When I first saw Melanie, I knew she was the only one for me, and it’s always kind of like that now,” he beamed before revealing that he would never find. no one else if they had to go their separate ways again.
