Live comedy special at Archies Creek
Let’s face it; most of us have had plenty of time over the past couple of years to watch live concerts via streaming services from the comfort of our homes.
But how many of us can say we were in the audience when we were filmed?
Wonthaggi’s Marcus Ryan has spent most of his career touring the world performing stand-up comedy.
This week, her dream of coming home to record her own special is coming true.
“After the show closed two years ago thanks to you know what, I wasn’t sure it would happen again, but the response has been so good that the Wonthaggi Union Community Arts Center is nearly full, so we’ve added a second show at Archies Creek at the famous Archies Creek Hotel known primarily for music lately with the Caravan Music Club.
“Dad’s family has been in Archies Creek for over 100 years and Wonthaggi is where I grew up, so having my shows professionally filmed in these two towns is very special.
“I have lots of material from Gippsland over the years, now is the time to give back and introduce Bass Coast to the world! Wonny is almost sold out but we could really use a lot more bums in the seats on Thursday at Archies Creek so if anyone fancy supporting a local artist come on board for a fun night of laughs it’s in the cozy front bar so it’s ‘It’s going to be a nice intimate show, and who knows, you might end up on the big screen! »
Marcus is joined by international comedian Lars Callieou (Canada) this Thursday May 12 at the Archies Creek Hotel. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Show 8 p.m.
