Maltese bus crashes in UK after British comedian restored it for five months
For some traveling the world, seeing an artist or dining at a special restaurant may be the goal of a lifetime – but for a British comedian, building his own fleet of restored vehicles is all he can think of.
Johnny Vegas had already made the headlines after buying an old bus on eBay at 2 am… only to find out that the bus is an authentic Maltese bus, located in Malta, not the UK.
That wasn’t enough to stop him from traveling to Malta to find Patricia on the bus and pledge to restore her to her former glory.
However, it was not all smooth sailing – after five months of restoring the big bus, the time has finally come for Patricia to arrive at her final home: a green field in England.
In a clip uploaded by Channel 4, the channel said, “Johnny Vegas is distraught as disaster strikes as he’s so close to bringing his vision to life” … his house.
Needless to say, Vegas is disappointed and stunned by the scene, only to be told that the bus’s brakes failed at the last moment.
“So much for the realm of dreams,” he mutters as he walks away.
“Oh, it’s devastating,” said a close friend.
The clips, which are part of the Carry on Glamping show, give a vivid glimpse into the colorful life of the funny Englishman who is just trying to show respect to older vehicles.
