Ms Brown’s Boys has been accused of ruining 2022 with her New Years special, with disgruntled license payers begging the BBC to cancel the show.
The Irish sitcom starring actor Brendan O’Carroll as Mrs Brown has been criticized on Twitter, with users taking to the platform to call the show “not funny” and worse than being tested positive for the highly infectious variant of the Omicron coronavirus.
One joke that failed to impress saw Grandpa deliver a single line, starting: âThere was a murder in the apartments last night. A man was beaten to death with a fish.
To laughter from the studio audience, he joked, “They think it was Jack the Kipper!”

In the past, Mrs Brown’s Boys has been embroiled in controversy, criticized for her behind-the-scenes policies as two of her cast have reportedly left the show amid a dispute over the pay gap.
The actors in question – Damien McKiernan and Gary Hollywood, who play couple Dino and Rory – have reportedly discovered that they are making less than the rest of the cast – which is largely made up of star Brendan O’Carroll’s family.
And an insider exclusively told MailOnline last year that the way the show plays out behind the scenes creates an unhappy work environment.
âThe show is very high / low, with a very clear division between Brendan’s family and the few real actors like Gary and Damien,â the insider said.
âThe family are all directors of Ms. Brown’s production company and are still being looked after. The BBC let Brendan do whatever he wants!
