Popular stand-up comedian, Abovi Ugboma aka Bovi has said that stand-up comedy in Nigeria has become worse than before.

During the marked session ‘Ask me anything’, a fan of the comedian asked Bovi’s opinion if stand-up has gotten better in Nigeria or worse? In a quick response, he said “worse”.

However, he went further by revealing that stand-up comedy in Nigeria could get better if people told “jokes in real comedy clubs”.

Earlier, Bovi revealed that he was banned from entering the United States of America because he had an ego conflict with a visa issuing officer.

Describing the incident as bad luck, Bovi, while answering questions from his fans on Instagram, said he was tagged and banned after the incident.

A fan of the comedian asked if he could visit Massachusetts to make them laugh out loud. In a terse response, the comic star said: ‘I’m banned in the United States’

When asked why he was banned from entering the United States, the popular comedian responded by saying, “Bad luck! I met a charity visa officer! The egos clashed! I have been tagged.

The comic star also revealed that his “school for the blind performances” were his favorites.

Another fan asked if Bovi accepts proposals for creative work or relies solely on his creativity, he replied, “I only rely on mine! Because creative works can be similar and you can end up thinking that you stole their idea.

When asked to advise those addicted to hard drugs, including cocaine, the comedian urged victims to “seek help through therapy.” To defeat something stronger than you, you need something/someone more powerful than you.

Also responding to a question about his preferred presidential candidate in the upcoming general election, Bovi said he would wait “till they (candidates) debate”.
