Sacha Baron Cohen resumes his famous humorous creations at the MTV Movie & TV Awards | Celebrities
Sacha Baron Cohen took over some of his most iconic characters by receiving the Comedic Genius gong at the MTV Movie & TV Awards on Sunday (05/16/21).
The 49-year-old actor was first transformed into Borat – the fictional Kazakh journalist – by accepting Seth Rogen’s coveted award at the ceremony.
He joked: “Thank you Prince Harry. I am very excited to be on this brand new music TV channel.
“I am very happy to accept this cup of gold teeth instead of Sacha Baron Cohen and I will put it in our national museum along with the national treasure that we have confiscated from you.”
But then Borat was interrupted by another of Sacha’s most famous comic creations, Ali G.
He said, “We should accept this price, not you. I was the original gangster. The OG.”
The comedy duo then exchanged a few jokes, before Sacha emerged to win the distinction and thank his fans for their support.
The London-born actor – who is married to movie star Isla Fisher – said: “Thank you MTV. To the millions of fans who voted for me, I salute you.
“It’s yours, I would be nothing without you. I’m so moved by this. I’m just a human being creating complex and nuanced characters.”
However, Sacha’s speech was later interrupted by Bruno, the fictional fashion journalist and another of the comedian’s most famous creations.
After the duo exchanged a few jokes on stage, Sacha joked that he was “canceling” himself.
The actor – who had previously received an Oscar nomination for his performance in ‘The Chicago Trial 7’ – joked, “I’m officially canceling myself. I was really looking forward to seeing this after losing the Oscar. can f *** *** keep it. “
