Seven announces “Hey Hey it’s Saturday” 50th anniversary special
This is one of the most iconic TV shows Australia has ever seen and now Hey hey it’s saturday bursts onto our screens for a unique anniversary celebration, with the Seven Network announcing the special event Hey hey, we’re 50 years old.
It will air later this year on Channel 7 and 7 plyous.

This special televised event will highlight the best of the madness and chaos that made people laugh throughout the show’s remarkable airing.
For 30 years, Somers and the Eh eh The team captivated Australia with not only the biggest names in show business but also the staged chaos of regular segments such as Red Faces, What Cheezes Me Off, Celebrity Head, Plucka Duck, Joking Off, Phunny Fotos and Chooklotto.
Over a career spanning more than five decades, Somers has hosted light entertainment programs, children’s shows, game shows, pop music shows and countless specials, including the highly successful Dance with the stars: all the stars series on Seven earlier this year.
In 2004, Somers received the Medal of the Order of Australia for his service to the entertainment industry, charities and the community.
Somers said: “I was absolutely delighted when Seven suggested a 50e birthday Eh eh special.”
âTrawling back through the vast archive was almost as much fun as doing the show in the first place, so hopefully we can deliver some laughs, not just the diehards. Eh eh fans but to all Australians, because we desperately need a touch of lightness right now. “
