If you haven’t yet reached the magnificent northwest, you are missing out on the region’s wealth of wonders; from the famous Kimberley waterholes described with wonder by Nicole Kidman – “there is something up there in the water of Kununurra” – to the many gorges to cross.

Every year, people buy tickets to the Boab Metals Ord Valley Muster and take the opportunity to race the 4×4 and explore the Kimberley; get up early each day and make the most of their days in the breathtaking Northwest. And with accommodation to suit all budgets, it’s a trip without discrimination.

So, get together and travel by car to the ultimate Kimberley Festival.

Here are seven things you should not miss on your trip to the Kimberley at Boab Metals Ord Valley Muster 2022:

1. THE AVIAR HELISPIRT KIMBERLEY MOON EXPERIENCE

Find yourself under the Kimberley moon and stars at this truly unique live concert.

The Aviair HeliSpirit Kimberley Moon Experience (KME) is the flagship event of the Ord Valley Muster – held on May 14 – and will feature well-known artists such as Ian Moss, Sheppard, Baker Boy and King Stingray.

The opening of the “KME” – as the locals call it – will be the winner of the infamous Muster Idol.

Upgrade your experience with the Muster Bar ticket, all-inclusive bar, food, and lounge area.

2. KIMBERLEY FINE DIAMONDS DINNER

Part of the “KME” is the Exclusive Black Tie Dinner; an amazing way to enjoy the concert experience under the stars.

Appetizers and canapes will be served on arrival and a delicious sit-down dinner before you can dance the night away.

3. CORROBORATED UNDER THE STARS

Experience the power of a traditional corroboree by the Miriwoong Gajerrong people at Corroboree Under the Stars. This event is one of the favorites on the Muster calendar, which takes place on May 19.

Showcasing the local indigenous stories, customs and art, this is an amazing opportunity to connect and immerse yourself in local life, while enjoying the traditional bush tucker!

4. CULTURAL EXPERIENCES

Enjoy a plethora of must-see indigenous cultural experiences, from Storytelling Night with Elder David Newry, Corroboree under the Stars to Art in the Park, Waringarri Art Experience and more.

Notably, David Newry was named Indigenous Person of the Year at the East Kimberley Aboriginal Achievement Awards and the Waringarri Arts Center is one of the oldest active art centers in Australia.

5. KIMBERLEY KITCHEN WITH MIGUEL MAESTRE

The beloved Kimberley Kitchen is back in 2022 – and with television royalty! Join Spanish-born Australian chef, restaurateur, author and TV presenter Miguel Maestre on May 16 as he guides you through a culinary masterclass on how to create his famous Paella, under the stars.

6. COMEDY IN THE PARK

Award-winning Steph Tisdell will take you through the aisle in stitches (May 18). Stay tuned for the Australian Comedy Royalty 2022 lineup announcement and get ready for LOL.

7. RODEO MEETING

Yeah ! It is only at the Muster that you can find yourself at a black tie event on a weekend and then watch one rodeo biting the other. This is your chance to see local cowboys attempt the longest eight-second hike of their lives on saddle, bull, and ox rides. It all happens on May 21.

There are so many ways to explore the Kimberley and the Ord Valley Muster is a must see. With a huge program (going beyond the above) including concerts and cultural experiences, the ‘Muster’ has it all, over ten days. And the options are truly endless, with tailor-made tours created especially around the Muster program. For more information, visit the website.
