The comedian who appeared on Taskmaster to come to Sheffield on a UK tour this month

Paul Chowdhry, a multi-award-winning comedian, actor and writer, will come to Sheffield on November 25 as part of his UK tour, Family Friendly Comedian (no children).
The tour closely follows Live Innit, Paul’s special tour on Amazon Prime, and a record-breaking live tour that saw him become the first British comedian in Asia to sell Wembley Arena.
Paul will perform at Sheffield City Hall and, in an effort to support and promote regional comedy, his opening act will be a local Sheffield comedian.
Paul said: âI think Sheffield is one of the best places for comedy in the UK. Since my childhood, Sheffield’s arts and music scene has always been very good. Gatecrasher was one of the best club nights in the country. You notice that all of the bigger tours tend to go to Sheffield because the audience is very receptive. There is such a diverse audience that you get there.
Paul rose to prominence after an appearance on Season 3 of the popular challenge-based comedy show Taskmaster, hosted by Greg Davies. He has been performing since 1999 and has three UK tours to his name.
Family Friendly Comedian plays on the question of what’s okay and what’s not okay with joking, and as Paul is aiming and any band, audiences will be left to decide if they’ve become family friendly.
Paul added: âI have probably toured in Sheffield for 15-20 years. All of my main tours, What’s Happening White People ?, PC’s World, Live Innit, and now Family Friendly Comedian have come to Sheffield.
âSheffield is very friendly, especially when you come from the south. In the north, people will ask you how you are doing and how your day was. If you do this in the south, people will think you escaped from a mental asylum
âI love coming to Sheffield. Sheffield Town Hall is an incredible place. I’ve toured there before but this time I’m in the main hall, which I’ve never done before. It’s a big leap for me.
