The Foundation of the Regions announces $ 100,000 in Tornado recovery grants
BIRMINGHAM, Alabama – (COMMERCIAL THREAD) – The Fondation des Régions, a non-profit initiative of Bank of regions which supports community investments, announced Friday a series of grants totaling $ 100,000 for organizations that coordinate disaster relief in parts of Alabama and Georgia that were affected by tornadoes on the 25th and 26th. March.
“Many of our communities are facing a long and difficult recovery, and the Regions Bank and the Regions Foundation will be there to offer support and guidance every step of the way,” said John Turner, President and CEO of Regions Financial Corp. “We mourn the loss of life and recognize the devastating impact of storms on our neighbors, communities and associates. Of the total of $ 100,000, grants will be awarded to the following relief organizations:
- American Red Cross—The Foundation of the Regions will donate $ 75,000 to the Alabama and Georgia chapters of the American Red Cross to support relief for those affected by storms in areas such as the Birmingham metropolitan area, as well as in communities in and around Metro Atlanta.
- United Way of East Central Alabama—Regions Foundation to donate $ 25,000 to United Way of East Central Alabama Tornado Relief Fund to help people in places like Ohatchee and other communities in Calhoun and Randolph counties that were hit by a severe storm late on the night of March 25.
