The Guildford Fringe Festival kicks off

Established by Managing Director Nick Wyschna in 2013, Guildford’s largest independent multi-arts festival is an open-access celebration featuring theater, comedy, poetry, music, visual arts, family entertainment, free conferences and events. Festival venues this year include Clandon Wood Nature Reserve, Yvonne Arnaud Theater, Star Inn Back Room, Keep Pub, Guildhall and historic Guildford town center.
Nick said: “Gag House Comedy Superstars kicks off the festival at the Yvonne Arnaud Theater on July 2 by presenting some of the UK’s best stand-up comedies starring Rich Hall. follow offer the public the opportunity to glimpse familiar faces, local talent, new scriptures and timeless classics.
“This year’s free fringe highlights include an open-air performance of Opera on the balcony outside the Guildhall, Guildford Rock Choir, Surrey Fringe Chorus and Color with Guildford in Bloom.”
Nick added: “It’s great to talk about the Guildford Fringe Festival again after having to cancel it in 2020. It’s been a tough year, but let’s focus on the positives. We were fortunate enough to receive a Cultural Recovery Grant from Arts Council England, which gives us planning safety cover. Throughout the month of July, audiences can be immersed in theatrical energy whatever events they choose to come and see. The participating artists, producers and venues have had a difficult year. Come celebrate with them and support the arts at the same time.
