Titans Of Comedy Team Up For Just Two Nights At Skycity

Hot on the heels of the New Zealand International Comedy Festival, four local legends bring their best jokes to SkyCity Theater for two nights only on June 19 and 20 for The great heist of comedy.
During a weekend, four of our best stand-ups (Brendhan Lovegrove, Paul Ego, Justine smith and Ben hurley) team up to steal some of your time for what will certainly be the busiest laughing nights of the year. The only thing these comedy titans have more than rewards are jokes.
Winner of NZ Comedy Guild Award 2015 for Best Male Actor,
Brendhan Lovegrove is a favorite on the local comedy circuit from Cape Reinga to Bluff, and he’s got loads of awards to show for it. He’s not just a mainstay of New Zealand’s renowned comedy venue, The classic, and the New Zealand avant-garde of television comedy, 7 days, it has sold crowds for over a decade in Australia, Asia and the UK balancing its fiery brand presence with a delivery and material reliability that puts the rest to shame.
Tired of watching it on your TV? Then head to SkyCity to see 7 days Team captain Paul Ego in person. Ego has been one of New Zealand’s most requested comedians for nearly two decades, hosting his ridiculously popular radio show, The rumble of the morning, for several years, and on tour 7 day live tour successfully across the country.
Justine smith comes to the heist after nailing the biggest gig in New Zealand comedy: welcoming the New Zealand Comedy Gala. Smith is one of the main lights of New Zealand comedy, winning not only the prestigious Billy T Award, but winning several victories for Best actress and Best Female MC.
Ben hurley didn’t just win all of the major New Zealand comedy awards (the Billy T Award, The Fred Prize,
Best Male Actor, Best MC), he’s also one of the most beloved stand-ups we have, whether he throws the gags on 7 days or a massive theater. He comes to The great heist of comedy after a successful return to New Zealand International Comedy Festival, with a show that brilliantly distracted from all the seriousness that torments us in 2021.
The great heist of comedy? It’s four actors for the price of one. The audience wins the flight!
