Popular Canadian actor, writer and comedian Peter Jonathan Aykroyd is well known because Peter Aykroyd died at the age of 66. The actor was best known for his work on “Saturday Night Live” and many other industry films. As an actor, he was also a popular comedian, writer and producer.

He was a member of the Second City comedy troupe in Toronto before joining SNL in 1979 in the show’s fifth season. Peter was a younger brother of Dan Aykroyd. Peter has worked on various projects and was a screenwriter and actor for one season of the NBC sketch series.

What was the cause of death of Peter Aykroyd?

He gained his popularity after starring in “Coneheads”, “Spies Like Us” and many more. He also co-wrote “Nothing But Trouble” in 1991 with his brother Dan, who made one of viewers’ most beloved comedy films. Along with this, Peter Aykroyd also worked as a voice in “The Blues Brithers”, an animated series starring Jim Belushi. Peter also gained popularity by appearing in the Canadian science fiction drama series “PSI Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal” with Christopher Chacon.

According to the sources, the actor’s death was announced on Sunday morning in the episode of “SNL”. Saturday Night Live – SNL shared a video on Twitter and captioned “Peter Aykroyd 1955-2021 SNL ’79 -80 ‘” “The Java Junkie”.

Peter Aykroyd was born on November 19, 1955 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. He was the younger brother of Dan Aykroyd and they both appeared on Saturday Night Live. They both wrote the story for the movie “Nothing But Trouble” in the early 90s where Peter wrote the story and Dan wrote the screenplay. Along with this, Peter Aykroyd and Jim Belushi provided the voices of Elwood Blues and Jake Blues for the cartoon titled “The Blue Brothers: Animated Series”.

With all this, he worked in various popular films and gained immense respect for his characters. Some of his most important films were Spies Like Us, Coneheads, Nothing But Trouble, Gas, Doctor Detroit, Nothing Lasts Forever, Dragnet, Nothing But Trouble, Coneheads and Kids of the Round Table.

Some of the actor’s most popular TV shows were From Here To Maternity, Second City TV, Leo & Liz in Beverly Hills, Justice and many more. After taking part in such movies and shows he had worked in many projects but today we have lost the real gem of the industry which gave us amazing moments. He will be remembered by his family and friends. Rest in peace Pierre Aykroyd.
