Tickets go on sale today (Friday, December 10) for what will be comedian Kanan Gill’s only stop in Western Canada, on April 16 at the Massey Theater in New Westminster.

Kanan Gill: Is This It mixes comedy with skits, improvisation, and what show organizers describe as “precise observations and deliveries.”

Gill first broke onto the Indian comedy scene in 2014 with Pretentious Movie Reviews, a YouTube series where he and fellow comedian Biswa Kalyan Rath shot Bollywood movies.

Solo stand-up gear followed, with world tours to North America, Australia, UK, Europe, Singapore, Hong Kong and India. Gill has since written a pair of stand-up specials: 2017 Keep your feet on the ground on Amazon Prime Video and 2020 Sincerely, Kanan Gill on Netflix.

Along the way, Gill performed comedy skits in her own “How insensitive!” YouTube series and starred in Them Boxer Shorts’ mock documentary “Better Life Foundation”.

In addition to his stand-up specials, Gill has a library of work on Amazon Prime Video: he co-starred in the sketch comedy special Sketchy Behavior with Kenny Sebastian, is a judge and mentor in The Biggest Hunting Series. humor in India titled ‘Comicstaan’ and also appears in the improvised comedy special, The Improvisers: Something From Nothing, which is a titular group of which he is a part, with Abish Mathew, Kenny Sebastian and Kaneez Surka.
