Who is Jamie Lee Curtis?
Jamie Lee Curtis, 63, was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, and had never considered acting.
She is the daughter of famous Hollywood actors Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh.
As a young girl, Curtis was a cheerleader at Westlake School for Girls in Los Angeles – later renamed Harvard-Westlake School after it merged with its sister school, Harvard School for Boys in 1991.
After elementary school, Curtis attended the University of the Pacific in California, where she considered majoring in social work, but soon realized her passion for acting.
Curtis landed her first role in the 1978 horror film Halloween which led to similar roles in Prom Night (1980), The Fog (1980) and Halloween II (1981).
These roles contributed to her being nicknamed the Scream Queen.
She picked up her first Golden Globe Award in 1990 for her role in the sitcom Anything But Love with comedian Richard Lewis and won her second Golden Globe Award in 1994 for her role in True Lies alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Curtis also starred opposite Lindsay Lohan in Freaky Friday (2003), the television series Scream Queens (2015-2016) and Halloween Kills (2021).

Jamie Lee Curtis has two children with her screenwriter husband, Christopher Guest.
They married in 1984 and adopted their two daughters in the late 1980s and 1990s.
Their eldest daughter, Annie, is a 35-year-old dance instructor at the MNR Dance Factory in Los Angeles, and their youngest, Ruby, is a 25-year-old video game writer who came out as trans in October 2021.
Speaking to People, Ruby said, “It was intimidating” to tell her mom she was trans, but she “wasn’t worried.”
She added, “They’ve been so accepting of me my whole life.”

Jamie Lee Curtis is primarily known for her prolific acting career, but she is also a published writer.
She wrote her first children’s book, When I Was Little: A Four-Year Old’s Memoir of Her Youth, in 1993 and ten other children’s books followed.
His eleventh and most recent book, I Am Me, came out in 2016 and revolved around the anxiety, fear and excitement of being an immigrant.
It was her daughter Annie who, at just four years old, made her realize she could write children’s books.
“My four-year-old said something funny to me one day,” Curtis told Education and Career News. “She walked into my office, all bubbly and sweet, and announced ‘when I was little I wore nappies, but now I use the potty.’
“The idea that she had thought about her life in the past when she was only four years old made me smile. I wrote on a piece of paper: ‘When I was little: Memoirs childhood of a four-year-old girl.
“I then wrote a list of things she couldn’t do before that she could now do. In the end, I realized I had written a book.”
Her subsequent children’s books continued to be inspired by Annie and Ruby and they all provide a message of hope for young readers.
“Someone once said my books were ‘self-help books for kids,'” Curtis said.
“It certainly wasn’t my intention, but I think if you’ve lived life, you learn life lessons along the way. And if you’re an artist, you use those life lessons in the work you do. done.”
