‘Young Sheldon’ Season 5: release date, spoilers & all about CBS comedy series

“Young Sheldon” has without a doubt been one of the best TV shows of recent years and has kept fans entertained with its gripping storyline and witty dialogue. So it’s no surprise that CBS has renewed the series for another season. The network is set to release Season 5 of the popular comedy show and there will be a huge surprise for fans in the next edition.

The show revolves around a nine-year-old boy, Sheldon Cooper (Iain Armitage) attending high school and trying to adjust to a world full of people, including his own family and friends, who aren’t sure how manage its unique intellectual. capacities and social incompetence. The series is based on Sheldon Cooper, a character who appeared on the hugely popular show “The Big Bang Theory” and was played by Emmy Award winner Jim Parsons.

“Young Sheldon” is one of the few shows renewed by CBS for the 2021-2022 season, which featured “NCIS”, “FBI: Most Wanted” and “Blue Bloods”.

Release date and how to watch

The fifth season of ‘Young Sheldon’ will air exclusively on CBS on Thursday, October 7. The show will take its regular 8 p.m. EST network slot. Viewers can watch CBS wirelessly with any of these streaming services: fuboTV, Hulu with Live TV, Paramount Plus, YouTube TV, and AT&T TV.

If you are not based in the United States, you may need a VPN to watch the series.

CBS has released the official login line for the first episode and it reads: “Sheldon and Missy are both running away from home and Mary gets heartbreaking news about George Sr.” It looks like a tragedy is going to strike Sheldon in the Season 5 premiere.

Spoilers

Co-creator Steve Molaro has made it clear that fans will see a time jump in the latest edition. Speaking in an interview with Digital Spy, the co-creator revealed that there will be a flash-forward in the new season that will force Sheldon to face difficult situations. However, the time jump will not come in the first few episodes of the season.

According to Molaro, fans will see the time pass around Episode 7 and will also discover new characters. He also clarified that ‘Young Sheldon’ will indeed be linked to the original show.

To throw

All of the original cast will return for Season 5. Iain Armitage will reprise the role of young Sheldon Cooper while Lance Barber will return as George Cooper.

Armitage has been in the entertainment industry since 2014 and debuted with “Impractical Jokers”. He had a cameo role in ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’ where he played the character of Théo Lachère. However, his first major acting role came in 2017 with “Big Little Lies”. He starred as Ziggy Chapman in the series and starred alongside Shailene Woodley, Nicole Kidman, Laura Dern, Reese Witherspoon and Alexander Skarsgard.

In 2017, he also made his film debut with “The Glass Castle” alongside Brie Larson and appeared in “Our Souls at Night” alongside Jane Fonda and Robert Redford.

Besides the aforementioned names, other actors to feature in the series include Zoe Perry (Mary Tucker Cooper), Montana Jordan (George Cooper Jr.), Raegan Revord (Melissa Cooper), and Annie Potts (Constance Tucker).

Creators

The show was created by the dynamic duo of Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro. They also worked together on “The Big Bang Theory”. Meanwhile, Lorre, Molaro, Jim Parsons, Timothy Marx, Todd Spiewak and Steve Holland are the executive producers of the series.

Trailer

The season 5 trailer teases George’s infidelity. The promo also reveals what’s really going on between George and Brenda. The clip doesn’t reveal much about their meeting, but we do know the duo were ready to step out of the bar for a good time. However, the interaction is interrupted by George’s heart problems and he lands in the hospital again.

Things will get interesting when George’s wife Mary and Brenda both arrive at the hospital to see him.
